We are proud to share that our annual Horsin’ Around program has been featured in the Williams Lake Tribune! This program is demonstrative of the power of community partnerships, dedicated volunteers, and the resilience and joy of the children and families we serve.
What is Horsin’ Around?
Horsin’ Around is a cherished program that provides children and youth with a unique opportunity to interact with horses in a supportive and inclusive environment. More than just a fun day outdoors, the program is carefully designed to encourage social-emotional growth, boost confidence, and provide therapeutic benefits through hands-on experiences with animals.
Children are encouraged to participate at their own pace, ensuring that each child feels safe, respected, and empowered — key principles that guide all of the services we provide at the Cariboo Chilcotin Child Development Centre.
Making It All Possible: A Community Effort
The success of Horsin’ Around wouldn’t be possible without the collective effort of our amazing volunteers, families, and community partners. From guiding activities to supporting logistics, every hand involved helped create a memorable and meaningful experience for participants.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who generously gave their time, energy, and kindness, as well as to our partners who helped make this program such a success. Your commitment helps ensure every child feels seen, supported, and celebrated.
Creating Lasting Impact
Programs like Horsin’ Around are part of our ongoing mission to provide accessible, inclusive, and strength-based services that support the full development of children and youth. These experiences foster not only growth and confidence, but also connection — to animals, to others, and to self.
We are honored to be a part of this journey and grateful to our community for making it possible.
